A happily married father of three, Joe is a native of Edmonton and a graduate of the University of Alberta. Life in the early days was very difficult for Joe. He was a high school dropout with an alcohol problem and at that time the future seemed bleak. Having personally dealt with substance use disorder, as well as facilitated the treatment of others undergoing similar afflictions, we recognize that underlying, unresolved emotional issues manifest themselves in the form of destructive behaviour amongst effected individuals; thus, it is our number one priority to identify and address the core issues behind the behaviour. Treating the external issues or the symptoms (substance use, depression, self-harm etc) is not enough. We believe that it is of utmost importance to equip young adults with a strong sense of self awareness, giving them the power to sustain long-term healing. We encourage the whole family to be a part of the healing process by offering family counselling sessions as well as communicating frequently with parents and loved ones throughout the treatment process.
