Michael Albazi
Addiction & Mental Health Worker
Michael Albazi is a Registered Social Service Worker and Addiction & Mental Health Worker at New Beginnings – Sober Living. Drawing on both lived experience and professional training, he brings authenticity, empathy, and a client-centered approach to his work. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Michael fosters an inclusive and affirming environment where each individual’s story is respected.
A graduate of Sheridan College’s Social Service Worker program, Michael began his career at Addiction Rehab Toronto in 2023, gaining experience in both inpatient and transitional care. Inspired by the growth he witnessed in clients post-treatment, he joined New Beginnings full-time in 2024, where he supports adult men in early recovery through one-on-one counseling, group facilitation, and life skills development.
His clinical approach is collaborative and integrative, guided by evidence-based practice and lived experience, while firmly rooted in the 12-step model. Michael emphasizes connection, spiritual growth, sponsorship, and service—principles he models in his own recovery and promotes in his work with clients. He holds certifications in First Aid & CPR/AED, Naloxone Administration, and Medication Administration & Error Prevention, and intends to further his education with CACCF certification.
