Dr. Greg Carfagnini
MD CCFP(EM), Addiction Doctor
Greg Graduated from Medical School from the University of Manitoba in 2006. He completed his Family Medicine Residency and ER Residency at NOSM in Thunder Bay in 2009.
Greg’s first 4 years of practice was as a full time ER physician at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre and he continues to work at TBRHSC, providing physician support for their urgent care shifts. Greg began providing Opioid Replacement Therapy (Methadone/Buprenorphine) in 2012, and continues to provide this service at various clinics in Thunder Bay. In 2013, Greg began working at Norwest Community Health Centre as a family physician where he further developed his addiction medicine skills by providing care to alcoholics living at the Shelter House Managed Alcohol Program. His work with the Shelter House has allowed him to develop his interest in providing care for the homeless and hard to reach populations of Thunder Bay. Through his practice at Norwest he has gained experience treating patients with chronic pain, and completed the ECHO chronic pain program in 2017. Greg has been providing physician support for several addiction rehabilitation facilities throughout Ontario since 2016. In 2017, Greg helped to established a Buprenorphine (Suboxone) clinic in conjunction with the Nipigon Family Health Team and in 2018 helped to develop Thunder Bay’s First Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic, he continues to work as lead physician for both these programs. Addiction Rehab Toronto is pleased to have Dr. Carfagnini as part of the team in effort to help our clients overcome their struggles with addiction.
