Amy Zwarich

Addictions Counsellor

Amy Zwarich started at Addiction Rehab Toronto as a student intern, joining the clinical team as an Addiction Counsellor in October 2022. Amy uses an empathetic approach when working with her clients, always keeping an open heart and mind to each client’s personal situation.  Amy is a true optimist, and it is her positive attitude, dedication and emotional intelligence that helps her accomplish any task she is assigned. Amy always manages to foster positive relationships and brings out the best in those around her both personally and professionally. She is dependable, personable, honest and inclusive of all.  She has a big heart that sees the best in everybody. Amy’s previous work and life experiences have provided her with a strong desire to advocate for people whose voices have been silenced by life experiences.

Her dedication to help and support individuals throughout their journey of recovery stems from her own experiences of family addiction, mental health and personal trauma.

Amy has received her diploma in Addiction Counselling & Community Service Worker in 2022. She has worked with young people in the juvenile justice system to advocate and support them throughout their time in incarceration. Amy also has a background in personal fitness and believes that not only is fitness and nutrition integral for physical health but also for the mind and spirit. She showed her clients patience, compassion and the motivation they needed to create and achieve the necessary accountability for long-term lifestyle change.

Amy hopes to continue to grow in her role as an addiction counselor through further education and experience helping others with their recovery.
