Melissa is an aspiring psychotherapist who is completing her Master of Arts (MA) In Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Melissa comes to Addiction Rehab Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication & Information Studies from the University of Western Ontario and a Post Graduate Diploma (PG) in Addictions and Mental Health from Humber College, with honour roll standings. Melissa’s approach is to facilitate Carl Roger’s theory of Client-Centred Therapy with her clients, utilizing the principles of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and non-judgment. Additionally, Melissa uses a trauma-informed lens and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as tools that tap into the client’s specific needs. Melissa believes in creating a care plan that is tailored to each individual, as there is no one-size fits all modality.
